I started out with a totally different colour scheme than what I ended up with. That's what I like about working with acrylic paint: if you don't like, just let it dry and start all over again. Working on thick watercolor paper also makes it a lot easier. I've learned that the thicker the paper, the more paint, water and other media is absorbed. So if you want to try painting on paper, I would recommend going for a thickness of at least 300g/m2.
